RELEASE DAY: "The Lady of the Pier: The Flow" by Effrosyni Moschoudi

DISCOVER THE LADY OF THE PIER TRILOGY

Today, I have a great recommendation for you, especially if you are pining for a beach holiday! Greek author Effrosyni Moschoudi is releasing book 2 in her trilogy this June, and what’s more, books 1 and 2 are currently only 99c! A great chance to discover The Lady of the Pier trilogy at a minimal cost!

What is The Lady of the Pier trilogy about?

The Lady of the Pier trilogy tells the stories of Sofia and Laura - two girls from two different worlds who have a mysterious connection. In book 1, although similar in some ways, the two stories are seemingly unrelated. In book 2, they begin to merge and in the concluding volume, The Storm, they become one story. The author recommends to start reading from book 1. The Storm is in the editing stage and will be published in December 2015.

About the author
Effrosyni Moschoudi was born and raised in Athens, Greece. As a child, she often sat alone in her granny’s
garden scribbling rhymes about flowers, butterflies and ants. Through adolescence, she wrote dark poetry that suited her melancholic, romantic nature. She’s passionate about books and movies and simply couldn’t live without them, particularly the ones starring Robert Pattinson, who is the constant inspiration behind her vulnerable romantic heroes. She lives in a quaint seaside town near Athens with her British husband Andy and a naughty cat called Felix. Effrosyni is a proud member of the writer’s group, eNovel Authors at Work.

MY REVIEW:

In The Ebb, we were introduced to two disparate characters in such a way that the reader would think that the author was telling two entirely different stories in one novel. In book two, The Flow, we start to see the stories merge a bit more.
In the first story, we see WWII break out and see how war can take a toll on love. Laura needs to get comfortable in an entirely new life, and we experience all of her emotions right alongside her.
In the second story, in the 80's, we see Sofia again, healing from her own broken heart and trying to move on with her life in a slightly similar vein to Laura's emotional tide.
This book reads faster than its predecessor, for two main reasons: one is you want to see what happens! Ms. Moschoudi writes simply and beautifully, leading you along like a body of water would lead a boat. It lets you flow along with its emotional tide and makes you truly feel as though you are there alongside the characters. Two is that you can tell quickly that the disparate stories are starting to merge into one, and you know in your heart that you will be getting more answers to the questions you had after reading the first book.
Unfortunately, the book leaves you with as many questions as it gave answers! But that is what I love, a sense of unfinished business that will make you reread both books over and over till the next installment.
Very few writers have such a gift for realism. Even in the midst of the metaphysical, you feel like you've been transplanted right into the story, it is that realistic. I think that Ms. Moschoudi is someone you NEED to remember, because we will be seeing her name in the papers and winning many awards. Her words are memorable, and her spell will linger inside your mind long after you've closed the book!

5/5--lovely work!
