When a story-writing doctor meets a mysterious detective, his life goes from everyday to pulse-pounding. The doctor joins the detective in his search for a missing inventor and a hunt for a vicious creature that vanishes. Unknown to the doctor, the detective is rushing towards a threat to the entire country and must survive expert killers to stop him.

Some might call this a ripoff of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Some might say Mr. Sherman watches too much BBC. What do I say? I say that, thanks to inspiration from Sir Arthur and a clever mind, here we have a very fast and entertaining read.
This is detective Sheridan Hope's second appearance, and in these stories we see him take on dog-fighting and some very dark, sadistic humans. As with the original Sherlock Holmes stories, I found myself more drawn to the Doctor, not the Detective.
In "Trophy Room", Doctor Sacker is made a more focal point than Hope is, and it is very enjoyable. The story proves that, while we can all enjoy a abnormal characters like Hope, or Holmes, or even Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory, there is much to be said about Joe Average (Sacker, in this case). He is someone we can all relate to, with whom we can sympathize.
I think Mr. Sherman is a fantastic writer, and I am excited to read more from him!
