BOOK REVIEW: "Unfinished Ink" by Joanne Marlowe

Unfinished Ink is a unique collection of poetry about love, lust, loneliness, liquor and letting go.  Ms. Marlowe highlights the ups and downs of love with flirty connotations and paints haunting portraits of desperate souls.  Beautiful and tragic, her words will take you on a powerful and emotional journey that will leave you thirsty for a lover and another glass of wine.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

You might remember that I reviewed Ms. Marlowe's first book of poetry and art last year. Now she has released her second book, a little longer than the last and much more concise.
I loved the first book because it had a sort of indie vibe, almost the way zines used to be put together. This book also has that special indie vibe that many indie books lack, but it's a bit more...grown up. Mature. The book sounds more sure of itself and as you read it you can see the growth in her writing. The emotions shine as clearly as before, leaving you living inside her mind briefly, but the poems are a bit more structured.
Reading them is a fast process, but it's fun to reread and experience the magic of the truthfulness in her work while sipping a glass of wine and relaxing in your favorite chair.
This isn't classic poetry. If anything, I would call this "poetry for the people". It's raw, gritty and delectable!

5/5--excellent!
