PRESS RELEASE: "Stranger" Comic Available Now from Pop! Goes The Icon

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 14, 2015

All-ages comic ‘Stranger’ available for digital download today
Anthology series Omega Comics Presents returns with standalone stories by both tested and fast-rising comic creators

Candy is the only human girl in her class at a prestigious orbital school. When a mysterious new student arrives, will she discover a kindred spirit? Or remain feeling alienated among aliens? Readers of all ages will find out when they pick up the latest entry in Pop! Goes the Icon's flagship anthology series Omega Comics Presents, “Stranger,” written by Russell Lissau (Old Wounds) with art, colors and letters by Dirk I. Tiede (Paradigm Shift).

Omega Comics Presents: Stranger is now available for only 99 cents at ComiXology, ComicsPlus and DriveThruComics. A limited-release print edition will be available beginning Oct. 21 through PopGoesTheIcon.com and at select comic book stores, including The Million Year Picnic in Cambridge, Mass., and Defiant Comics in Forest Park, Ill.

Since 2010, Omega Comics Presents has provided a highly visible platform for underexposed comic book creators. Behind the quirky stories of mobster ghosts, stranded astronauts and wartime vampires were a number of creators who would go on to find success both with independent endeavors and mainstream projects, including Jason Copland (Kill All Monsters, POP), Ed Brisson (Murder Book, Sheltered) and John Bivens (Dark Engine, Old Wounds).

The next digital-first issue of Omega Comics Presents comes out Jan. 13, 2016, with Trevor Mueller (Albert the Alien) and Francesco Iaquinta’s “Los Ojos,” the story of a hitman whose senses allow him to see the true nature of his targets. The digital-first release of Omega Comics Presents: Los Ojos will be followed by a print edition on Jan. 20.
