RELEASE BLITZ: "The Hunger Within" by Lily Luchesi (18+)

Vampirism isn't all sex, blood, and handcuffs. * She's not all whips and orgasms.

What inspired me to write The Hunger Within

The Hunger Within really started with A Bloody Legacy, the 15k word novelette I released this past April with Hot Ink Press. BDSM has always been interesting to me, not just because of the sexual aspect but the psychological one as well. It takes two entirely different types of people to be doms/dommes and subs, and different reasons for why each role appeals to them. However, I never thought about writing it at all, though I had penned some erotica short stories for anthologies. My publisher said femdomme was becoming a trend in books and that there was a lack of it. Somehow, that night, the idea for A Bloody Legacy came to mind. I am a vampire nerd. Ask anybody. Vampires dominate (pun intended) my work, and I was always intrigued by Dracula and Stoker’s portrayal that he basically had a small harem with his three brides, plus wanting Lucy and then Mina. Right away my mind went not to Dracula himself, but to a daughter, the next in line to take over the House of Dracul. From there, I thought about Renfield, and how Dracula wasted an opportunity in killing him when he was such a faithful servant (and really was submissive when you read between the lines). So right away, a female Renfield popped into my head with all of the submissive nature but none of the mental illness. I hadn’t planned on writing a full length novel for the two women, Victoria and Bec, but right away my readers came to me and said, “We need more!” Not want, but need. I am not a plotter, ideas have to come naturally to me. It took maybe a week before the idea came, and I still have no freakin’ clue how it happened. But I’m glad it did. As I wrote, I knew I wanted to delve deeper into the psychology of a new sub in a relationship with an experienced domme. We dommes can be cold and calculating due to our positions, often hiding our softer emotions to play our roles. I wanted to explore that line of thinking and how it can confuse a sub, especially a new one. I also wanted to add in more action, because I grew up with violent vamps, not sexy ones. But to me, violence and power can be very sexy indeed, and that was another thing I made sure to point out in the narrative. To tell the truth, this was also an excuse to write about bloodplay in a very natural setting. My mind is a melting pot, and everything just stirred together like a big stew and turned into The Hunger Within. Sex, blood, and handcuffs. Love, mystery, and mind games. I hope readers enjoy the book half as much as I enjoyed writing it. Vampires wielding whips and chains as well as fangs? Yes please... Title: The Hunger Within Series: Stand Alone Release Date: July 29th, 2017 Publisher: Hot Ink Press (an imprint of CHBB Publishing) Genres: Erotica, BDSM, F/F, LGBT+, Paranormal, Paranormal Romance Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35510557-the-hunger-within Cover art: Designed by Rue Volley Newly turned vampire Rebecca Renfield is about to discover that there is much more to the world of theUndead than sex, blood, and handcuffs. Her sire and Mistress is the direct descendant of Count Dracula, and that means she has a reputation to uphold. Meetings with vampiric dignitaries, secret blood and bondage dungeons, and vampire hunters now fill the couple's nights. is this world everything Bec thought it would be, or will she fall under the pressure of what it means to be the submissive to the most powerful vampiress in the world?
The body of my best friend for the past twelve years was lying on the entryway floor, nearly bloodless. Her glassy eyes stared at the ceiling in disbelief and eternal fear. I hoped that the undertaker fixed that, or else she’d give the visitors at her funeral quite a shock. Not that the dual vampire bites and broken neck wouldn’t be startling enough. What was I doing as my friend’s body lay cooling? I was pushed up against the wall in the very same hallway, tasting her blood on my lips and having my clothes torn off of me by my impatient and unbearably sexy Sire and Mistress, Victoria Draconis. Her now blood-warmed hands tugged down my tank top and tore off my bra in a bloodlust filled haze, leaving bloody handprints on my pale flesh. The eyes that were usually black were now burning with Hellfire, and I am sure mine were as well. She leaned in and licked the blood from the side of my face, her body holding me flush against the wall. The feelings inside of me were heady and intoxicating, a dark mix of lust, satisfaction, anticipation, and warmth I had never known before. Victoria had told me that there was no better sex than that which took place right after a first feeding, and she seemed to be correct. She hadn’t even touched more than a breast on me and already I was more turned on than I had ever been. I wanted to make the job go quicker and help remove the rest of my clothing, but I refrained. Victoria hadn't told me that I could and I didn’t want to risk angering her. And no way in Hell would I touch hers without express permission. “So pliant,” she said, her deep, accented voice giving me chills. “You are a fast learner, my pet.” Her lips captured mine again as she slid my leggings and panties down. I stepped out of them and my sneakers in two quick movements. Victoria’s hands went to the back of her corset and began to unlace it. Despite it being the twenty-first century, she dressed like a Victorian lady....if ladies of bygone days wore four-inch black leather heels and liked to whip other women for fun, that is. The garment fell away from her body, exposing her large, soft breasts as she then stepped out of her skirt, leaving her heels and sheer red panties on. Fingers tugged at my nipples, hard, but I was now used to worse. “As I said, I knew I’d increase your pain threshold,” she said, a smug smile on her face. One hand slithered from my breast up my chest and neck, pressing ever so slightly on my throat now. “On the ground, on your hands and knees. Now.” I obeyed, too full of arousal to care that I was about to kneel in freshly spilled blood. There was a rustling from behind me and then there was a sharp pain on my arse. She’d removed the belt from my jeans and had proceeded to use it as a whip, something she had done once before when the proper tools weren’t in easy reach. Victoria loved giving pain, just as much as I loved taking it as I arched my back to meet her next stroke. I hadn't been her sub for very long. In fact, I had just discovered the lifestyle when we met a month ago, but I was so glad that I’d found her...found this. The next slap of the belt was right between my legs and I let out a cry, somewhere between pain and arousal as the leather connected with my now throbbing clit. I slid forward in the slippery blood, just a bit, and heard my Mistress’ dark laughter behind me. A few more strokes with the belt adorned my arse, back, and between my shoulder blades, sending me forward even more. The friction--or lack thereof--on the floor had me sprawling, my body now covered in blood as I fought for purchase. Victoria laid off with the belt, and I felt her sharp heel digging into my back, pressing me downwards despite my effort to remain on all fours. “Be a good pet and lick it up,” she commanded. “Not all of it, just what’s in front of you.” The fuck? This was new, at least to me. I yelped as a fresh wave of pain hit me: Victoria had noticed my hesitation and whipped me straight down my spine. “Did I stutter, slut?”

Check out the start of the short story “Evil that Walks Tweed Road”:
I slid the manila folder into the cardboard box, careful to keep them alphabetized.  My brother might tease me to death over my organization habits, but not once had I fumbled during my presentations.  Each photograph, newspaper article, and information sheet had a home.
“Excuse me.  Annie?  I’m Patrick.”
I glanced up, the final folder in hand.  A man with gray eyes stood in front of the table.  I’d studied those gray eyes during my lecture while he sat in the back row of the library’s meeting room.
“Yes?”  I double-checked the words on the folder before placing it into the box.
“I’ve always been fascinated with Tweed Road.  I grew up near there, and as kids we always wanted to see the ghosts.  Swear we saw a couple of them.”
I nodded, my ponytail sliding over my shoulder.  “I’ve heard plenty of those ghost stories, but I don’t really believe in ghosts.  If a serial killer gets you, do you really want to hang around for all eternity?”
He chuckled.  His teeth had to have been professionally straightened and whitened to gleam like that.  “What got you into giving talks on Tweed Road?”
He couldn’t be flirting with me…but maybe he was.  “Well, I got my Masters in history and then I got a job as a professor here.  I started looking up local history, and this area is famous for the Tweed Road killings.   It was mostly all legends and kids daring each other to walk along the road at night, so I wanted to tell everyone about the truth.”  I smiled.  I sucked at flirting, but I could sure smile, even if my teeth didn’t look half as nice as his.
“Do you think telling everyone about this will help them finally catch the killer?”
“Life is never that simple.”
Patrick leaned toward me and lowered his voice.  “I know who the serial killer was.”
I lifted my eyebrows.  At every library or historical society where I gave my presentation, someone always had a theory.  My favorite suggestion had been Jack the Ripper.  “Who are you thinking of?”
“My grandfather.”
That was similar to “my ex-husband,” which I heard a lot from elderly women.  “Why do you say that?”
“He confessed to me before he died and he showed me the spot where he did the killings.”
The bodies had all been found dumped in the swamp, but no one had ever discovered where their hearts and livers had been gouged out.  I frowned.  “Who have you told?”
“I, um…just you.”  The young man wiped his hand across his face.  “I don’t know if I should go to the cops.  They might just laugh.  Do they even care about the case anymore?  It’s all more of a legend now.”
“A lot of families would have peace of mind.”
Patrick closed his eyes and sighed.  “Can I show you the spot?  I think I’d feel better going to the cops if you went with me.  You know all the facts about the killings and I just know what my grandfather told me.”
I shifted my stance.  “Don’t let me put words in your mouth.”  I had studied the Tweed Road serial killer for three years and it had all been paper, nothing I could walk on.
“Will you go with me?  I’ll drive.  It’s about fifteen minutes out of town.”
It might become my stupidest decision, but…  “Let me just put my box in the car so we don’t hold up the library from closing at nine.”  If the spot was fifteen minutes away, they wouldn’t make it back by then.
