One taste was all it took. Derek Block demands more. Frankie Jordan wants to run. Pleasure complicates business. But some passion is just too hard to resist. Things are getting hotter as real estate gets real….
This is Episode Two of the five-episode Timber Towers novella series.
EXCERPT:
I held her wrists above her head and leaned down so she could feel my words, not just hear them. “I give you what I want, when I want - my fingers, my mouth, my tongue...” My hand dropped to my zipper. I fisted the crotch of my jeans. “Even my fucking cock. Understood?”
I expected her to pull back, but her focus seemed to soften as her eyes traveled down my stomach and settled on my hand. I released the bulge so she could get a better look at my dick.
She licked her lips. “Got it.”
I knelt on the bed and straddled her body, holding her hands against the headboard. I had made a special request for this bed, I wanted something wooden, with slats on the headboard, carved and sanded, so the finish was smooth on all four sides. I knew she could handle the rubbing, but I didn’t want her skin cut or splintered.
“You’re not going to tie me up…”
I weaved the flannel around her wrists and secured the knots to the headboard. “I’m not?” The shirt was tight enough to prevent her from moving, but loose enough to allow circulation.
She glanced at my handiwork. “You warned me that you would do this…I never thought you really would.”
“Don’t ever doubt me, Frankie. I always keep my promises.”
MY REVIEW:
After the cliffhanger ending of Marni Mann's Unblocked Episode One, I was ecstatic when I received episode two fairly quickly in my inbox. Because, let's face it, I'm a sucker for scruffy guys with blue eyes and an up front attitude. I fell for Derek as soon as he was introduced, and I'm not usually one for "book boyfriends".
Again, Frankie is a smart, sweet, decisive and independent, maintaining her strength even while she's upset or depressed. While she's hurt, she's still manages to live a life preparing to head a major company. If any leading lady in an adult novel is worth looking at in an inspirational way, it's her.
Plot wise, this one kept up the narrative of Episode One, picking up right where it left off. Frankie still needs to sign the contract to represent Derek's new building, but she's worried that her attraction to him will mess everything up. Not all of the characters from book one made it into book two except for honorable mentions. Brea, Frankie's mischievous assistant, and Anna, her closest friend, do appear, and they are very enjoyable secondary characters.
I don't want to give anything away about the relationship between Frankie and Derek, but I will warn the readers one thing: read at your own risk. This is seriously one of the sexiest books I've ever read. Derek's demanding attitude could make any woman get turned on.
Oh, one last thing: Ms. Mann...why? I can't handle another cliffhanger!
