BOOK REVIEW: "Love's True Second Chance" by Jeff Dawson

The following is a true story; love and heartache in high school, the feelings of anger, curiosity through the years, and finally a reuniting.
At forty-nine, I’ve suffered a wide variety of ups and downs, emotional highs and lows. I thought I’d experienced every feeling imaginable. The emotions I shared with Debbie in the short seven months God allowed us together were beyond my wildest dreams. I was about to get an education in how deeply one can truly love another person.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

In the midst of the tragic beauty that this story brings, you might forget it is reality. The darkness, the light and the love are so vividly described, I had moments where I thought of the book as fiction. Mr. Dawson has a very literary style of writing, one that puts him in a unique category for nonfiction writers.
The story as described above is a love story, a story about second chances, and a story how how true love knows no boundaries.
Was this book my style? No. Did it hold my attention and make my cry aside from that fact? Yes. And that is a major thing. I read everything, but nonfiction (especially love stories) is not my usual cup of tea. That didn't matter. I was truly moved by this book, by the emotion with which it had been written and by the strength of Mr. Dawson. He has gone through Hell and come out the other side.
